Hi everybody! My name is Marieke Drieling and I graduated in 2012 as a veterinarian assistant at the Clusius College in Alkmaar. I live in Amsterdam together with a roommate. After my studies I worked as a veterinarian assistant for a while, but my plan was to become a physiotherapist for animals. So I tried to study physiotherapy, but unfortunately I didn’t succeed in finishing it. However, I am still interested in this field, which comes in handy at Dierenkliniek Vondelpark.
After studying physiotherapy I travelled through Australia and New Zealand for 2 years and worked a lot in the hospitality industry, which was also my last job. I found out that my heart really lies in working with animals so I am very happy to have this opportunity again.
Hopefully I will meet you soon!
My name is Demi Dreyer, I’m 24 years old and I live with my partner and our cat named Lucky in a small village called Langeraar. Ever since I was little, I’ve really loved to be around animals. Through the years we’ve had lots of different pets at home and I practically spent every minute of every day helping at the local horse stables for years. Becoming a veterinarian assistant was something I really wanted, but when I had to decide on my education, I chose to become a beautician. The last four years I liked working as a beautician, but kept having the feeling something was missing. So I took a leap of faith and decided to go back to school to become a veterinairan nurse. As of November 1st, I’ll be working at Dierenkliniek Vondelpark where I’ll be learning the first two years to get my diploma. I’m really thankful for the opportunity the clinic was willing to give me, so I can already start working in this sector while studying.
I’m looking forward to meet you all at the clinic!
I’m Loes and together with my husband, daughter, dog and four guinea pigs I live in Amstelveen. To add to all the fun, I also have two horses.
As long as I can remember I wanted to become a veterinarian. People can tell you whats wrong by using words, but animals have different ways of telling us. This is exactly what makes veterinary medicine so interesting for me. You do not only face the medical side, but you also need to take animal behavior and owners into account. Apart from this, veterinary medicine is very divers and you can develop yourself in a lot of different directions. My own interests especially lie in surgery, emergency care, rabbits/rodents and animal behavior.
As a veterinary student I had the opportunity to do my internship at the Vondelpark animal clinic. I was very impressed by the team, the expertise and especially the clients! Therefor I feel privileged to work at animal clinic Vondelpark and Dierenkliniek Spaarne.
As a child I had an early interest in the medical field and I was a big animal lover. It was no surprise that I chose the study veterinary medicine. My first year of studies was in Ghent (Belgium), but after a year I came back to our beautiful small country to finish my study at the University of Utrecht. The learning to become a vet I varied with more practical work as a veterinary assistant.
In 2013 I graduated. Shortly after, I got offered a job at a clinic in Hoofddorp and after that I worked for 5 years at a clinic in Haarlem. From January 2019 I’m part of the fantastic team of Veterinary clinic Vondelpark.
What I like the most in my work as a vet, is the contact with the patients, but also with the owners. I find it a challenge to work with the owner and together get to a diagnosis and treatment. My interest is mostly surgery and especially laparoscopic surgery (surgery by means of a camera). Other than that I also have a special interest in dermatology.
In my spare time I do sports, I like to travel the word, but I also find it very nice to relax at home with my red cat Moos.
I am looking forward to meet you in our clinic!
I am Joy Zonneveld and I live in Heemskerk.
From a very young age I’ve always loved animals, that’s why I started the Paraveterinary course. During my internship at Vondelpark Animal Clinic I had a great time and I am also lucky that after my internship I was allowed to come and work here! I graduated in June 2018 as a assistant at the Clusius College in Alkmaar.
The work as a starting assistant is very nice, this is mainly because there is a lot of variety possible here in this clinic. Hopefully I will meet you soon!
I am Nirita Brand and I have just joined the great team of Veterinarian Clinic Vondelpark.
I graduated in June 2013 from the University of Utrecht and since then I have been working as a veterinarian, with the exception of the last 5 months in which I have travelled around the world! However beautiful this period has been, I am more than ready to get back to work.
I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends at the clinic!
‘I graduated in 2013 at the University of Utrecht as a veterinarian for small animals. Since my graduation I’ve been working as a veterinarian and I love it! My interests are internal medicine, radiology and echographics and reproduction.
When I was a child I always had pets (little chicks, rabbits, ducks and hamsters) and now I have two Golden Retrievers named Smash and Vino. During my education I’ve gained a lot of experience by working as an assistant in another clinic and in the emergency clinic in Amsterdam. I also have worked as a volunteer at a sterilization/castration-project in Albania. In my spare time I like to play tennis, see my friends and travel. For my graduation-project I’ve been to New-Zealand and Australia, where I have learned a lot and enjoyed visiting these beautiful countries.
You can find me at the clinic most of the time on Tuesdays and Fridays and I look forward to giving the best care to your pet, together with my colleagues.’
Hi my name is Kelly and, together with my dog Jade, I live in Zandvoort. From a young age I always knew that I wanted to work with animals, and in 2010 I graduated as a veterinary technician at the Groenhorst College in Barneveld.
After my studies, I started my career at a regular clinic, then progressing to an emergency clinic for 5,5 years where I learned a lot. The versatility of our job and the contact with pets and their owners is something that I really love. Since November 2016 I have been working in the veterinary clinic Vondelpark. This is a great clinic with an amazing team!
I hope to meet you and your pets soon!
‘Who doesn’t want to be a vet! Off course I wanted this, just like many other small children. At that moment I didn’t really realize what it all meant. I had a romantic image in which all animals will get better, everyone would come in crying and leave laughing. I can tell you, I was right (often..)!
I have the best job in the world! The variation in work, try my best to be the best, see a lot of different pets and owners, in the center of Amsterdam.. we heal a lot of animals, get lots of positive reactions, have a lovely team and we all work hard to make our clinic even better. With better care for your pets and sincere involvement with the owners, we have success! Come meet us soon..’
Hi there! My name is Fleur Visser and I have been working at the Veterinary clinic Vondelpark since 2016. I live in Amsterdam with my boyfriend and our cat Kees.
Before I started my career as a veterinary technician, I worked in sales after a previous stint in Economics. After a while I decided to make a big change and start doing something that makes me happy; working with animals! Since that moment, I have never regretted this decision! I love working with humans and animals and I love that every day is different.
Hi! My name is Caitlyn, and I started working at the clinic in 2013. Fresh out of school, it couldn’t be better!
Ever since I was a kid, animals have been my biggest passion. Every animal had to come home with me so I could fix them up and set them free again, which really frustrated the homefront… Therefore the choice was not difficult when they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to be a veterinary technician, to help all animals!
I still enjoy it every day. Dogs are my biggest passion, but cats and other animals are also more than welcome.
In my spare time I like to go on long walks with my dog Cas. Also I like spending time at home reading, playing a board game, taking care of my fish, and playing harp and violin
I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)!
